The Bowl has a stunning soft glaze with a dark brown tenmoku glaze covered partly with a white glaze. The effect these glazes give is caused by the tenmoku glaze bubbling through the white glaze at top temperature, giving what is called an oil spot glaze. A great little display bowl in deep copper green tones has developed a mottled effect from microcrystals produced in a slow cool firing. It has then undergone another firing for the addition of the gold rim. This is real gold, so is unsuitable for microwaves, and we would not suggest putting it in a dishwasher.

This bowl has been thrown on the wheel before being glazed and high-fired, with the additional gold firing. The interior is glazed in a deep green glaze also.
