From Everyday Pottery to Crystalline Art

I've always been drawn to clay—its texture, colour, and endless potential for transformation. My pottery journey began in the late 1980s, when I first discovered the satisfaction of turning a simple lump of clay into something both beautiful and useful.
After starting a family, my creative focus shifted into other ventures, from custom dressmaking to running an exclusive boutique for more than 30 years.
When COVID brought that chapter to an unexpected pause, I found myself returning to the pottery wheel and reconnecting with a passion that had never really left me. Buxton Pottery was reborn.
Today, I create handmade pottery from my Melbourne studio, combining traditional wheel-thrown techniques with a love of experimentation.
From everyday mugs and serving pieces to specialised crystalline ceramics, every piece is made by hand and reflects my belief that functional objects should be both practical and beautiful.
