Handmade Pink Ceramic Mug 400ml – Pottery Second

A soft pink handmade pottery mug, wheel-thrown in my Melbourne studio and finished with a flowing creamy white glaze that creates subtle movement across the surface.

This generous 400ml ceramic mug is being offered as a Buxton Pottery Second because of a couple of small scratches on the base and a small area where the glaze has not fully covered. These are cosmetic imperfections and do not affect the function of the mug.

Why This Piece Is a Second

Handmade pottery goes through several stages of making, glazing and firing, and occasionally a piece emerges with a small imperfection.

This mug has a couple of small scratches on the base and a small area of incomplete glaze coverage, as shown in the photographs. Neither affects its function, but they mean it doesn't quite meet the standard I set for my first-quality Buxton Pottery pieces.

Rather than discard an otherwise lovely and completely usable mug, I offer pieces like this at a reduced price as part of my Seconds Collection.

Made for Everyday Use

With its generous 400ml capacity, this mug is a lovely size for coffee, tea, hot chocolate or simply for someone who enjoys a larger favourite mug.

The soft blush pink is complemented by a creamy white glaze that flows naturally down the upper part of the mug. The firing has created gentle variations in colour and glaze movement, giving the piece the individual character of handmade ceramics.
