Handmade Rustic Ceramic Tumbler – 250ml – Blue, Green & Earth Glazes

A small handmade ceramic tumbler with layers of colour that make every side a little different.

This 250ml tumbler is wheel thrown and finished by hand in my Melbourne studio. The exterior combines turquoise, soft blue, green, ochre and earthy brown glazes, which overlap and move during firing to create the wonderfully varied surface you see in the photographs.

Inside, a warm terracotta-brown glaze provides a striking contrast to the cooler colours on the exterior.

Part of my Rustic Collection, the layered glazes are applied individually rather than simply dipping the finished piece into a single glaze. The firing then brings those layers together, producing areas of flowing colour, speckling and subtle changes in texture.

With a comfortable capacity of approximately 250ml (300ml filled to the top), it makes a lovely handleless cup for coffee, tea or other drinks. It could also be used as a small beaker or even as a decorative vessel for pencils, brushes or flowers.

Because the glaze develops differently around the entire piece, there really isn't a single "front" to this tumbler.

Made by Hand

Small variations in glaze, colour and surface are part of the character of handmade pottery rather than imperfections. The layered Rustic Collection glazes are particularly individual, making each piece difficult to reproduce exactly.

Care

Made from high-fired ceramic for everyday use.

Dishwasher and microwave safe.
As with all handmade ceramics, avoid sudden or extreme temperature changes.
