Deep Green Crystalline Porcelain Vase – Limited Edition Art Pottery
Elevate your home with this one-of-a-kind crystalline porcelain vase, a true collector’s piece handcrafted in our Melbourne studio.
Crystalline glazing is one of the most challenging and rewarding techniques in ceramic art — a process that transforms raw materials into living patterns. At temperatures reaching 1300°C (cone 10), the glaze melts into glass before being carefully cooled and held at precise temperatures. This delicate control allows zinc-silicate crystals to bloom naturally across the surface, creating formations that can never be repeated.
This particular piece features a deep green glaze with an almost mirror-like gloss, scattered with large, softly edged crystals reminiscent of lily pads floating on still water. Its elegant, bottle-shaped silhouette makes it perfect for a single bloom or as a stand-alone statement art object.
Why this vase is special:
Limited edition, one-of-a-kind — no two crystalline pieces are ever the same
Crafted from fine porcelain for a refined, luminous finish
High-gloss mirror surface that reflects light beautifully
A showcase of master-level ceramic technique
Designed to be equally stunning with or without flowers
Details:
Handmade in Melbourne, Australia
Material: Porcelain ceramic
Dimensions: Height 15cm x Width 13cm
Finish: Deep green crystalline glaze
Care: Hand wash recommended; not microwave safe
This vase is more than décor — it’s a piece of ceramic artistry, created for collectors and lovers of unique handmade objects.

This stunning large ceramic vase is a unique piece. A fabulous gift. It would sit beautifully as a showpiece and would hold a tall bunch of flowers. The glaze is called golden snow, with beautiful crystals floating randomly.
About Crystalline Glazes:
The macro-crystals found in crystalline glazes form around a nucleus of zinc oxide crystal. In the right circumstances, zinc and silica oxide molecules will begin attaching themselves to the nucleus crystal. For this to happen, there must be an extended time at higher temperatures to allow time for crystal growth, and the glaze must have the right type of chemical composition.
Firing schedules for crystalline glazes usually require a soaking period plus a controlled down-firing ramp.
Crystalline glazes tend to be quite runny. Pots should be fired on a bisque pedestal-saucer to catch all drips. The pot’s bottom may need to be ground and polished after removal from the kiln.
This vase was made with love and care; please use it frequently!
*PLEASE NOTE* Shipping can be expensive! If you end up paying more than the actual shipping cost, I will refund any overages. Thank you!

This stunning large ceramic vase is a unique piece. A fabulous gift. It would sit beautifully as a showpiece and would hold a tall bunch of flowers. The glaze is dark green, with beautiful crystals floating randomly.
Crystalline pottery is technically and aesthetically on the cutting edge of ceramic art. It displays the combination of intense organic beauty mixed with the scientific process. Making these requires a high level of craftsmanship to make the porcelain pieces by hand and then the scientific know-how to master the chemistry of crystalline glazes. The crystals grow in the firing process and are highly variable.

Ceramic bud vase
Hand-made crystalline bud vase in a blue/brown glaze with a white glossy glaze interior. It's hard to show this little gem off properly in the photos. The effect of this beautiful glaze has come from a very special crystalline glaze, when fired, and slowly cooled; which allows time for the crystals to grow within the glaze. Each crystalline glazed piece is unique in that they cannot be duplicated. The crystals are never the same from one piece to another.
Perfect to set off those buds picked out of your garden.
