Bring tradition and rustic beauty together with this handmade yunomi cup. Crafted in Melbourne, Australia, each yunomi is wheel-thrown and glazed in turquoise, moss green, and earthy brown tones, resulting in a natural, wood-fired appearance.

Layers of moss green dominate this yunomi, with subtle turquoise highlights and a warm brown rim.

Traditionally used in Japan for everyday tea drinking, the yunomi’s simple yet functional shape retains warmth and enhances the ritual of slow sipping. This piece reimagines that tradition with a distinctly Australian handmade character.

Each yunomi is one of a kind, with glaze variations that reflect the spontaneity of the firing process.

Materials: Clay, ceramic, glazes.

Materials

Most Buxton Pottery pieces are made from high-fired stoneware clay, chosen for its strength, durability and suitability for everyday use.

Crystalline pottery pieces are generally made from high-fired porcelain, which provides a smooth, light-coloured surface that allows the crystal glazes to develop clearly during firing.

All pieces are individually handmade and finished with food-safe ceramic glazes.

Shipping & Returns

Orders are carefully packed and dispatched from Melbourne within 2–3 business days. Australia-wide shipping is calculated at checkout.

As each piece is handmade, natural variations in shape, colour and glaze are part of its individual character and are not considered faults.

Buxton Pottery does not accept returns for change of mind. If you are unhappy with your order, please contact me so I can discuss the issue with you.

If an item arrives damaged, please contact me promptly with photos of the item and packaging. Depending on availability, I will arrange a replacement or refund.

Dimensions

Approximate dimensions are listed in the product description for each individual piece. As every item is handmade, slight variations in size and capacity may occur.

Microwave safe and dishwasher safe, although hand washing is recommended to help preserve the glaze finish.
