Bring quiet drama and natural elegance into your home with this large handmade crystalline vase, crafted in my Melbourne studio. With its tall, sculptural silhouette and softly flared base, this piece is designed to stand confidently on its own as a statement object.
The deep green glaze has a remarkable sense of depth, with floating crystal formations suspended beneath a smooth, highly reflective surface. The crystals appear dark and tonal, emerging subtly as the light moves across the vase — creating a sense of movement and quiet complexity that is difficult to fully capture in still photographs. A short video has been included to better show the mirror-like finish and crystal detail.
Each crystal has grown naturally during a carefully controlled firing process, where temperature and timing are held with precision to allow the crystals to form and bloom within the glaze. No two crystalline pieces are ever the same, making this vase truly one of a kind.
To further enhance the visibility of the crystal formations, this vase has been gently acid etched after firing. This controlled surface treatment subtly refines the glaze, allowing the crystals to stand out through contrast rather than colour, while maintaining a smooth, reflective finish. The process does not affect the structure or strength of the vase.
Beautiful as a sculptural centrepiece, this piece also works effortlessly with tall flower stems or dried branches.

Most Buxton Pottery pieces are made from high-fired stoneware clay, chosen for its strength, durability and suitability for everyday use.
Crystalline pottery pieces are generally made from high-fired porcelain, which provides a smooth, light-coloured surface that allows the crystal glazes to develop clearly during firing.
All pieces are individually handmade and finished with food-safe ceramic glazes.

Orders are carefully packed and dispatched from Melbourne within 2–3 business days. Australia-wide shipping is calculated at checkout.
As each piece is handmade, natural variations in shape, colour and glaze are part of its individual character and are not considered faults.
Buxton Pottery does not accept returns for change of mind. If you are unhappy with your order, please contact me so I can discuss the issue with you.
If an item arrives damaged, please contact me promptly with photos of the item and packaging. Depending on availability, I will arrange a replacement or refund.

Microwave safe and dishwasher safe, although hand washing is recommended to help preserve the glaze finish.
Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as moving pottery directly from the refrigerator into a hot oven. Buxton Pottery is not thermal-shock ware and should not be exposed to rapid changes in temperature.
