This beautiful 350ml mug from our Rustic Series captures the essence of handmade artistry and natural Australian beauty. Thrown and altered by hand in our Melbourne studio, the form feels sculptural yet familiar.

Its glossy red-brown interior holds warmth, while the outside features a deep Turquoise glaze with speckled ash-green flows dripping gently from the rim. A subtle hint of gold appears at the glaze transitions, evoking coastal cliffs and riverbeds.

The altered base and subtle texture enhance both the tactile and visual appeal, making it a functional piece of art.

Materials

Most Buxton Pottery pieces are made from high-fired stoneware clay, chosen for its strength, durability and suitability for everyday use.

Crystalline pottery pieces are generally made from high-fired porcelain, which provides a smooth, light-coloured surface that allows the crystal glazes to develop clearly during firing.

All pieces are individually handmade and finished with food-safe ceramic glazes.

Shipping & Returns

Orders are carefully packed and dispatched from Melbourne within 2–3 business days. Australia-wide shipping is calculated at checkout.

As each piece is handmade, natural variations in shape, colour and glaze are part of its individual character and are not considered faults.

Buxton Pottery does not accept returns for change of mind. If you are unhappy with your order, please contact me so I can discuss the issue with you.

If an item arrives damaged, please contact me promptly with photos of the item and packaging. Depending on availability, I will arrange a replacement or refund.

Care Instructions

Microwave safe and dishwasher safe, although hand washing is recommended to help preserve the glaze finish.

Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as moving pottery directly from the refrigerator into a hot oven. Buxton Pottery is not thermal-shock ware and should not be exposed to rapid changes in temperature.
