Rustic Japanese-Inspired Yunomi – Handmade in Melbourne

This yunomi tea cup blends Japanese tradition with rustic, earthy glazes. Hand-thrown in our Melbourne studio, it features a rounded form and layered glazes in turquoise, moss green, and deep brown, creating a natural, wood-fired effect. The glossy tenmoku-inspired interior makes it perfect for enjoying tea, whisky, or any beverage.

Traditionally, a yunomi is a tall, cylindrical cup used for everyday tea drinking in Japan. Its simple, functional shape is designed to retain warmth and enhance the ritual of sipping slowly. This piece reimagines that tradition with an Australian handmade character.

Each yunomi is one of a kind, with glaze variations that reflect the spontaneity of the firing process.
