This handmade ceramic vase is finished in my Deep Galaxy crystalline glaze, named for the way the crystals bloom and gather like a star-filled night sky. The surface has a storm-toned crystalline finish — layered smoky greys, deep ocean blues and inky detailing — with glowing crystal patterns that shift beautifully as the light moves across the form.
Each vase is wheel-thrown and glazed by hand in my Melbourne studio, then fired in a one-off experimental firing that can never be repeated exactly. That’s what makes it so special: the glaze movement, crystal bursts and speckling are completely unique — a true one-of-a-kind.
