This handmade pottery sugar bowl is both functional and beautiful, crafted with care in our Melbourne studio using locally sourced Australian clay and glaze.
Glazed in a warm palette of speckled cream and rich red-orange-brown tones, the bowl features a gently domed lid and a glossy brown interior. The exterior glaze flows naturally around the belly of the bowl, creating a soft, earthy layering effect that makes each piece truly unique.
With a generous 2-cup capacity (just under the inside rim), it’s perfect for sugar, tea leaves, or even small kitchen items like spices or salt. It also pairs beautifully with our matching creamers and large mugs.

Most Buxton Pottery pieces are made from high-fired stoneware clay, chosen for its strength, durability and suitability for everyday use.
Crystalline pottery pieces are generally made from high-fired porcelain, which provides a smooth, light-coloured surface that allows the crystal glazes to develop clearly during firing.
All pieces are individually handmade and finished with food-safe ceramic glazes.

Orders are carefully packed and dispatched from Melbourne within 2–3 business days. Australia-wide shipping is calculated at checkout.
As each piece is handmade, natural variations in shape, colour and glaze are part of its individual character and are not considered faults.
Buxton Pottery does not accept returns for change of mind. If you are unhappy with your order, please contact me so I can discuss the issue with you.
If an item arrives damaged, please contact me promptly with photos of the item and packaging. Depending on availability, I will arrange a replacement or refund.

Microwave safe and dishwasher safe, although hand washing is recommended to help preserve the glaze finish.
Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as moving pottery directly from the refrigerator into a hot oven. Buxton Pottery is not thermal-shock ware and should not be exposed to rapid changes in temperature.
