Handmade Ceramic Mugs & Pottery Drinkware – Australian Stoneware
$59.00

Our handmade pottery coffee mugs are designed and crafted locally in Australia, paying tribute to the country's stunning landscapes and coastlines. They feature an array of beautiful handcrafted glazes in lovely beachy blue hues. Our mugs are lined with a glossy cream glaze, making them perfect for enjoying morning or evening coffee or tea. With a capacity of 400ml, they are large enough to hold plenty of your favourite beverages.

Our mugs are specially designed to fit comfortably in your hands, providing a warm and comforting sensation. These mugs are ideal for anyone who loves large mugs.

Each ceramic coffee mug is unique, with slight variations due to the handcrafted glazes. While we try to represent the colour accurately, different devices may show different colours. We value the beauty of handmade pottery over perfect uniformity.

Our glaze has soft, mottled green-blue hues with mottling developed from extended kiln cooling. The mug is lined with a cream glaze for an elegant look.

Since each mug is made of ceramic, it must be handled carefully. Even though we high-fire all our mugs for added durability, pottery is still prone to cracking if dropped or knocked.

This handmade porcelain pottery mug has a capacity of about 350 ml when filled to the brim, making it perfect for a 300ml serving. It is durable and long-lasting, so feel free to use it often with care.

The pottery mugs are both microwave and dishwasher-safe. This particular mug features a stunning off-white base glaze with soft gold crystals randomly dispersed. It is finished with a glossy white glaze and measures 9 cm tall and 8 cm wide at the belly.

These mugs are made on the wheel, so their dimensions may vary slightly.
About Crystalline Glazes:
The macro-crystals found in crystalline glazes form around a nucleus of zinc oxide crystal. In the right circumstances, zinc and silica oxide molecules will begin attaching themselves to the nucleus crystal. For this to happen, there must be an extended time at higher temperatures to allow time for crystal growth, and the glaze must have the right type of chemical composition.
Firing schedules for crystalline glazes usually require a soaking period plus a controlled down-firing ramp.
Crystalline glazes tend to be quite runny. Pots should be fired on a bisque pedestal-saucer to catch all drips. The pot’s bottom may need to be ground and polished after removal from the kiln.
