A warm, earthy handmade ceramic jug designed for everyday use.

Wheel thrown and finished by hand in my Melbourne studio, this 300ml jug combines a softly speckled cream glaze with warm brown and caramel tones around the lower half. Where the glazes meet, subtle variations develop during firing, giving the surface the individual character of handmade pottery.

The gently shaped pouring lip and comfortable handle make it a practical little jug for the table, while the neutral colouring works easily with both contemporary and rustic interiors.

Use it for milk, cream, sauces or salad dressing, or simply bring it to the breakfast table alongside your favourite handmade mugs.

Made by Hand

Every Buxton Pottery piece is individually made rather than mass produced. Small variations in shape, glaze colour and surface are natural characteristics of handmade ceramics and are part of what makes each piece unique.

The interaction between the cream and brown glazes develops during firing, so no two pieces will be exactly alike.

How to Use It

This is a useful size for milk or cream with coffee, but it isn't limited to the breakfast table. Use it for gravy, warm or cold sauces, salad dressings or small quantities of custard.

And when it isn't being used for serving, it is attractive enough to leave on display.

A Unique Handmade Gift

A small handmade jug makes an easy and practical gift—particularly for someone who enjoys handmade pottery, ceramics and beautiful pieces for the kitchen.

Pair it with a Buxton Pottery mug for a lovely coffee-lover gift, or give it on its own as a housewarming, birthday or hostess gift.

Materials

Most Buxton Pottery pieces are made from high-fired stoneware clay, chosen for its strength, durability and suitability for everyday use.

Crystalline pottery pieces are generally made from high-fired porcelain, which provides a smooth, light-coloured surface that allows the crystal glazes to develop clearly during firing.

All pieces are individually handmade and finished with food-safe ceramic glazes.

Shipping & Returns

Orders are carefully packed and dispatched from Melbourne within 2–3 business days. Australia-wide shipping is calculated at checkout.

As each piece is handmade, natural variations in shape, colour and glaze are part of its individual character and are not considered faults.

Buxton Pottery does not accept returns for change of mind. If you are unhappy with your order, please contact me so I can discuss the issue with you.

If an item arrives damaged, please contact me promptly with photos of the item and packaging. Depending on availability, I will arrange a replacement or refund.

Dimensions

Approximate dimensions are listed in the product description for each individual piece. As every item is handmade, slight variations in size and capacity may occur.

Care Instructions

Microwave safe and dishwasher safe, although hand washing is recommended to help preserve the glaze finish.

Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as moving pottery directly from the refrigerator into a hot oven. Buxton Pottery is not thermal-shock ware and should not be exposed to rapid changes in temperature.
